Departure in the morning towards Iriki National Park and the Erg Chegaga dunes. Following a rocky road similar to the Paris-Dakar route, we'll reach the village of Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi, where a traditional lunch awaits you in a mud-brick house offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
In the afternoon, head to the dunes via a sandy track lined with tamarisk trees. Erg Chegaga and its highest dune will gradually reveal themselves. After a welcome tea at the bivouac, you can choose between a hike to the summit or a camel ride (approximately 1 hour). The ascent offers spectacular views of the vast desert.
The return journey will be by 4x4 through the former dried-up lake of Iriki, with several stops to capture unique photos.
Welcome to Foum Zguid Desert Tours, where every trip enriches not only your soul, but also the lives of the local tribes in Morocco’s Lake Iriki region.
