Foum Zguid Engravings Jbel Bani

The Gravures et Peintures Rupestres au Lac Iriki excursion is a 4-day, 3-night trip offered by Foum Zguid Desert Tour.
This adventure takes you back to prehistoric times, to discover the remarkable rock engravings and paintings of Djebel Bani.
The program includes a desert bivouac, a camel ride on the dry Lake Iriki, and a stay in a traditional guesthouse.

Day 1: Foum Zguid - Erg El Mhazil

Departure by 4x4 from Foum Zguid towards the Erg El Mhazil dunes.
Settle into a bivouac in the heart of the dunes, where you can enjoy the silence of the desert.
Spectacular sunset, followed by a traditional meal around the fire and a night in a tent.

Day 2: Erg El Mhazil - Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi - Guesthouse

After breakfast, departure for a camel trek (or on foot, depending on your choice) across the plains of dry Lake Iriki.
Picnic break en route.
Arrival at a traditional adobe guesthouse for a relaxing break.
Hammam session, mint tea and dinner prepared by a local chef.

Day 3: Gravures Rupestres - Guest house

Guided hike (1h30 to 2h) to Djebel Bani after breakfast.
Discover the prehistoric engravings and cave paintings that bear witness to a thousand years of history.
Return to the guesthouse for lunch and an afternoon of relaxation.
Visit the nearby oasis, including the ancient ksar and the marabout's tomb.
