Lake Iriki Excursion, Engravings And Dunes

Departure by 4x4 from your hotel in Foum Zguid in the morning, along a track leading to the Jbel Madouar El Kbir mountains, nicknamed the Colorado of the Moroccan desert for its impressive rock formations. These imposing massifs stand out against the vast plains, offering spectacular scenery. Stop off at the Laarjmia oasis to admire the mountain views, enjoy the shade of the date palms and observe the local wildlife near the well.

We'll then continue on to the village of Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi, where our guide, a native of the region, will show you the oasis and its traditional crops, the village and the tomb of Marabout Sidi Abdenabi. Lunch will be served in our guesthouse, before we set off again by 4x4 to Jbel Bani. From here, a 45-minute walk will take you to the rock engravings and paintings that bear fascinating witness to the region's prehistory.
The adventure continues by 4x4 to the dunes of Erg El Mhazil, where you can contemplate the first sand dunes in the Sahara. A privileged moment to appreciate the tranquility and beauty of the desert.

At the end of the day, we'll head back to your hotel in Foum Zguid, with stops along the way to observe fossils, vestiges of a time when this region was covered by water.
