This journey is designed for those who want to discover the real desert, from its fossil-rich terrain to the immense dunes of Erg Chegaga.

Day 1: Foum Zguid → Erg Chegaga
Your journey begins with a welcome at our restaurant, Les Nomades, in the center of Foum Zguid. After a traditional Moroccan tea, you will meet your driver and guide who will accompany you on this adventure. At the start of the tour, our driver will take your car to a safe parking area and then drive it to M’hamid for you. From there, you will take a 4×4 vehicle and venture into the desert. You will visit the impressive Tajine Mountains and a fascinating fossil site before crossing the vast, dry bed of Iriki Lake. The day culminates with your arrival at Bivouac Les Nomades in the dunes of Erg Chegaga. Here, you will enjoy a camel ride to a high dune to watch the sunset, followed by a traditional dinner and music around a campfire.

Day 2: Erg Chegaga → M’hamid El Ghizlane → Foum Zguid
After a traditional Berber breakfast in the desert camp, you will continue your journey. We will head to the old village of Zawiat Sidi Abd Enbi and visit the ancient Ksar of Zawia. You will also have the opportunity to visit a nomadic school and have lunch in the middle of the desert, where you may spot animals such as gazelles. The journey continues toward M’hamid El Ghizlane, where you will be reunited with your car at the Camping of Hamada du Draa, marking the end of your extraordinary Sahara crossing.

This 2-day desert crossing is a unique adventure linking the two gateways of the Erg Chegaga dunes: Foum Zguid in the west and M’hamid in the east. Travel across the vast Sahara, passing through hidden oases, dry lakebeds, and untouched dunes. This is a journey for those who want to experience the raw beauty of the desert away from the crowds.e
