Day 1: M’hamid El Ghizlane Departure to Erg Chegaga
Your 3-day desert tour begins as you meet your local guide and driver in the town of M’hamid El Ghizlane. We’ll set out in a private 4×4, traversing vast desert landscapes and passing through small oases. Along the way, we’ll visit the tents of local nomads, learning about their way of life while enjoying a traditional desert lunch, perhaps the famous Moroccan tajine. In the afternoon, you’ll transfer to camels for a memorable trek through the dunes. As the sun sets, we’ll arrive at your traditional Berber camp in Erg Chegaga. After watching a breathtaking sunset, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and gather around the campfire for music, storytelling, and stargazing.

Day 2: Erg Chegaga to Lake Iriki 
Wake up early to witness the spectacular desert sunrise over the dunes before enjoying a traditional Berber breakfast. Today’s journey takes you deeper into the Sahara. We’ll set out in the 4×4 to visit a nomadic school and cross the vast, dry bed of Lake Iriki, a designated national park. Along the way, we’ll explore the ancient ksar of Zawiat and a historical marabout before arriving at your desert camp, Bivouac Les Nomades, situated in the largest dunes of the Iriki region. You will spend a second magical night in the heart of the Sahara.

Day 3: Lake Iriki to M’hamid or Foum Zguid Tour
After a final desert breakfast, you have the choice of two routes. We can return to M’hamid El Ghizlane, where your tour concludes, or you can opt to continue to Foum Zguid to experience new scenery. If you have a vehicle in M’hamid, we offer the convenient service of transferring it to Foum Zguid for you, allowing for a seamless one-way journey. Your trip will end upon arrival at your destination.
