Day 1: Marrakech → Foum Zguid
Your adventure begins in Marrakech. We will arrange your comfortable private transport to Foum Zguid, a small, calm city and the gateway to the wild Sahara. Here, you will spend the night to rest and prepare for the expedition ahead, with time to explore the city at your leisure.

Day 2: Foum Zguid → Tajine Mountains (Camel Trekking)
After meeting our team and dromedaries, we’ll pack our needs for the expedition. We’ll begin our camel trekking adventure, hiking south of Foum Zguid to reach the Tajine Mountains. We will camp on the mountain to set up our cameras and observe the nocturnal desert wildlife. The night will be dedicated to capturing the raw beauty of the desert as animals begin to stir, and we’ll wake early to capture the first light.

Day 3: Tajine Mountains → Lake Iriki (Wildlife Photography)
After breakfast, we will descend to our camp and begin our journey towards the edge of Lake Iriki. This night will be spent at the lake’s edge, a prime location for capturing photos of the elusive desert fox and Fennec fox, which are most active at night.

Day 4: Crossing the Iriqui National Park
Today we will cross the vast, dry bed of Lake Iriki, a national park since 1994, which spans over 123,000 hectares. Our camel trek will take us through this immense landscape, offering a unique opportunity to witness the signs of the desert’s thriving ecosystem.

Day 5: Deep into the Dunes of Erg Chegaga
We will continue our trek, arriving at the incredible dunes of Erg Chegaga. This will be a challenging but rewarding day, offering a high chance of spotting Dorcas gazelles, which frequent this wild, untouched area with less human presence. We will spend the night camping in the heart of the dunes.

Day 6: Cultural Encounter with Nomads
We will trek to a nomadic camp to discover their way of life and traditions. This day is a unique opportunity to connect with the local Berber people, learn about their unique culture, and enjoy their authentic cuisine. We will spend the night camping with them, listening to their stories.

Day 7: Trekking to Oued Ennam
We will cross the entire oasis of Oumlalag to reach Oued Ennam. This part of the journey will offer a different landscape, as we travel through lush palm groves and natural oases, contrasting with the vast sand dunes and rocky terrain of the previous days.

Day 8: Oued Ennam → Mahamid Elghizlane → Marrakech
After breakfast, we will take a 4×4 to Mahamid Elghizlane. From there, we will begin our return journey to Marrakech, crossing the Atlas Mountains one final time, bringing your unforgettable desert expedition to a close.
