The Best of Both Worlds: Our Hybrid Desert Journeys

For the traveler who wants a real adventure without the private-tour price tag, we offer our Half-Shared / Half-Private journeys.

We are a small Berber nomad agency and our aim is to make sharing our traditions and culture with everybody possible. We’ve built an alternative model that allows you to experience our authentic desert tours, the real wild life of the vast Sahara, the tradition and culture of nomads, learn stories from the Sahara and how we live in the desert, whilst avoiding the costs of a private-tour.

For travelers who dream of the silence at Erg Chegaga but find the cost of a private car from Marrakech out of reach.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Marrakech Desert Tours

What is the best desert tour from Marrakech?

The best desert tour from Marrakech for a first-time visitor is typically a 3-day desert tour to the Sahara, as it combines key stops like Ait Ben Haddou with an authentic desert experience. Marrakech to Merzouga is one of the most popular routes, taking you to the famous Erg Chebbi dunes for a camel ride and overnight desert camping. Alternatively, Marrakech to Erg Chigaga offers a quieter, more remote experience with fewer tourists.

Foum Zguid desert tours take you on a more authentic, off-road journey to the untouched wilderness of Lake Iriki. M’hamid desert tours offer a more traditional route to the great dunes of Erg Chegaga.

For families, we recommend our 2-day Lake Iriki adventure or any of our private, customized tours. Our guides are experienced in working with children and can adjust the pace and activities to suit all ages.

Yes! Camel trekking is a highlight of any Marrakech desert adventure. On most Marrakech desert tours, you’ll have the opportunity to ride a camel into the desert dunes, watch the sunset, and spend the night under the stars at a traditional desert camp.
No! Our local tour operators offer guided desert tours with experienced drivers and local guides who know the terrain well. They will guide you the whole way through and ensure that your journey to the Sahara dunes is comfortable and secure.

If you want to explore deeper into the desert, a Marrakech 4×4 desert tour will take you off the beaten path and to more remote areas like Erg Chigaga. For a more traditional desert experience, a Marrakech camel trek is a must, as it offers a unique way to explore the dunes and enjoy the peaceful desert landscape.

For most people, the best time to book a Marrakech desert tour is during the cooler months, from October to April. During these months, temperatures are more comfortable for both the camel trek and overnight desert camping. Summer can be extremely hot, especially in the day!
