Day 1: Marrakech to the Big Dunes
Your journey begins in the early morning in Marrakech. You will travel across the High Atlas Mountains via a public taxi (for groups of 1–4) or a private minibus (for groups of 8+). This drive offers incredible views of small Berber villages as you cross through Taznakht to reach the “Gate of the Sahara” in Foum Zguid. After lunch in Foum Zguid, you switch to your private 4×4. We take the old Paris-Dakar rally track to visit the Tajine Mountains, prehistoric fossils, and the Oasis of Elmadouar. We then cross the dry salt flats of Lake Iriki to arrive at our camp, Bivouac Les Nomades, in the Erg Chegaga dunes. Enjoy a welcoming mint tea and walk to the top of the big dunes for a sunset in absolute silence, followed by a traditional dinner and music around the fire.

Day 2: Into the Nomadic Heart
After breakfast at our camp, we head out in the 4×4 for a full day of desert discovery. We will visit the Old Kser of Zawia, the lush Zawia Oasis, and the Nomadic School. We’ll also share a cup of tea at a nomadic base to see how we truly live in the Sahara. Lunch is served in the middle of the desert under the shade of palm trees. Throughout the day, we keep a lookout for wildlife like gazelles that still roam this landscape. In the evening, we return to the camp for your second night inside the dunes.

Day 3: The Valley of the Kasbahs
After breakfast, we take the 4×4 back to Foum Zguid via a different desert track. Following lunch in Foum Zguid, we reconnect with the shared transport for the return to Marrakech. If traveling by minibus, we take the opportunity to visit the Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, drive through the Ounila Valley, and visit the Kasbah of Lglaoui on our way back to Marrakech, where we will drop you at your hotel or Riad.
