Departure by 4x4 from Foum Zguid for a 2-hour track to the Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi oasis to visit the ancient ksar and the marabout's tomb. We'll then walk 10 minutes to our guesthouse to enjoy a traditional lunch and relax with a cup of tea in the shade of the acacia trees. Spend the evening around the fire with a hearty dinner. You'll sleep in our charming guest house, which is faithful to traditional architecture.
After breakfast, we'll set off with the camel caravan in the direction of the nomadic school for a 3-hour walk. We'll meet the schoolchildren, have lunch and set up our bivouac to spend the night with the nomads, dining under the stars.
In the morning, our caravan sets off for the highest sand dunes in the Sahara in Erg Chegaga, a 6-hour walk in the sand. En route, we'll take a lunch break in the shade of the tamarisk trees. Once we've arrived, we'll set up our bivouac and enjoy a tea-time chat with our guide, who will tell you all about nomadic life. We'll then enjoy the sunset over the great dunes and dinner under the stars.
We head for Oued Laatache, known as the river of thirst, for around 5 hours' walking (16km). We'll have lunch in the shade of the acacia trees. On arrival, the bivouac will be set up near the well where the nomads get their water. We'll dine under a starry sky in a warm atmosphere.
After breakfast, we'll set off for Oued Naame, the ostrich river, for a 5-hour, 17km walk, with lunch en route. When we arrive and set up our bivouac, you can relax and enjoy the silence of the desert for a night under the sky.
In the morning, our caravan will set off across the last dunes of M'Hamid. We'll have lunch en route before arriving at M'Hamid El Ghizlane for the end of this incredible desert trek.
